We are a small travelling creative team of experts moving through South Africa, region by region, creating refined visual and written marketing for beautiful guesthomes.

We photograph the property, film the spaces, capture the landscape around it, refine the booking platforms and create three months of social media content shaped around the full experience of staying there.

3 Months of Social Media Content

We create three months of Instagram and Facebook content for your guesthome, using the photographs, videos and regional material gathered during our time with you.

Each post is written to extend the feeling of your place, gently reminding future guests why they should come, what they can experience and what makes your guesthome worth remembering.

The initial package includes three posts per week, with the option to continue after the first three months.

From start to finish, the work takes a week. Here’s why:

We photograph the guesthome

We capture the interior and exterior of the property. Depending on the size of the guesthome, this can take anything from half a day to two days.

We photograph the region

We spend time in the surrounding area, capturing the places, landscapes and experiences that help guests understand why they should visit.

We film the space

We create walkthrough videos and drone footage, giving future guests a clearer sense of the property, its layout and its setting.

We refine your listings

We optimise your Airbnb, Lekkeslaap and Booking.com copy so that your property is presented with more warmth, clarity and appeal.

We edit the visual material

The photographs and videos are selected, edited and prepared for use across your booking platforms, website and social media.

We create your social media content

We write three months of Instagram and Facebook posts, shaped around the images, films and story of your guesthome.

Riaan Lourens

Riaan brings more than 15 years of experience behind the camera to Sigeuner, with a refined eye for architecture, hospitality and beautifully designed spaces.

He specialises in photography that captures the atmosphere, character and quiet detail of a property - the way light moves through a room, the balance of form and texture and the small visual cues that make a stay feel inviting.

His work is polished without feeling cold, elegant without feeling distant. From boutique guesthomes and luxury stays to modern interiors and architectural spaces, Riaan approaches each project with creativity, precision and a deep appreciation for design.

At Sigeuner, his role is to help each guesthome present itself with warmth, clarity and visual confidence.

Pieter Verwey

Pieter brings more than 30 years of marketing experience to Sigeuner, with a rare blend of strategy, storytelling, photography and place-making.

He has won over 100 international awards for marketing, including 53 International Property Awards, and is recognised as one of the world’s most awarded property copywriters. His work has helped change two South African laws through the power of communication, proof of his belief that words and ideas can move people in meaningful ways.

A published author, travel writer, nature photographer, lecturer and Amazon bestselling marketing writer, Pieter shapes the voice of each guesthome with an instinct for beauty, clarity and emotional connection. His role at Sigeuner is to find the story of the place - and tell it in a way that makes people want to go there.

Hylton Herd

Hylton brings more than 20 years of photographic experience to Sigeuner, with a deep understanding of light, landscape, detail and visual storytelling.

His love of photography began in 2000, when his first digital camera led him to photograph chameleons while working for SANParks in the Knysna forests. That early passion soon became part of his professional life, helping him document photographic evidence used to determine the Knysna elephant population.

In 2012, Hylton left his career to pursue photography full-time, and has spent the years since refining his craft across an ever-changing digital landscape. His work is shaped by patience, technical skill and a strong sense of connection with his subject.

At Sigeuner, Hylton brings a calm, experienced eye to every guesthome, creating drone films that feel natural and quietly memorable.

Zita Olivier

Zita brings a cinematic eye and a strong marketing instinct to Sigeuner, shaped by four years of experience in real estate and commercial videography.

She specialises in creating elevated property films, walkthrough videos and commercial content that capture the atmosphere, movement and feeling of a place. Her work is known for smooth transitions, thoughtful composition and a refined production style that helps properties feel both beautiful and desirable.

With a blend of technical precision and creative sensitivity, Zita helps each guesthome come alive on screen, giving future guests a clearer sense of arrival before they ever step through the door.
